Rafe Cameron loved being in control. He always had a plan and a way of doing things, looking over his shoulder at all times.
But when he met you, the feeling of having to keep an eye on his surroundings multiplied. The reason being? How at any given moment, you could do something to injure yourself.
You were clumsy to say the least. Always tripping over nothing but air, dropping things, bumping into items.
And as much as he relentlessly teased you for your clumsiness, he secretly adored how he got to be the one to save you multiple times a day.
He got to be the one to wrap his arm around your waist and pull you flush against his side when he could see you were too distracted by the pretty colours of the sky during sunset hour and got close to walking into a lamp post.
“Oops.” You smiled up at him cheekily and he couldn’t resist leaving a little peck on your lips at how cute you looked.
“I got you baby.” He confirmed as he gave you another little squeeze before you turned your attention back to the pink and orange clouds.
He also was able to be your knight in shining armour when you reached for a glass in your kitchen cupboard while the two of you were cooking breakfast. Unfortunately, your fingers didn’t quite grasp the item and as a result the glass started falling. Luckily, Rafe was right behind you and about to take it down for you, instead now his quick reflexes allowed him to grab the dish mid-air and smirk down at you while you waited for it to shatter all over - the smash never happening.
“Thank you Rafe.” You blushed a little as he filled your glass up with water and placed it next to you, while he left a kiss on the top of your head and walked back to the eggs he was making.
“Of course sweet girl.” He praised with a wink, his words making you melt further.
It made him feel amazing knowing he was of use to you and you needed him to protect you while you got distracted or didn’t pay enough attention to your surroundings.
And he would ensure that he was there every time you needed him to make you feel looked after and in return all he asked was that you put up with his neediness and attention starved heart, that he served for you on a silver platter.
